Generic name: Amlodipine Besilate and Atorvastatin Calcium Tablets

【 Uses】

This product is suitable for patients requiring combination therapy of amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine is used to treat hypertension and coronary heart disease. Atorvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia and coronary heart disease.

[Directions]

The efficacy of this product is equivalent to that of its two individual components used separately, and the two are interchangeable. The usual starting dose of amlodipine for treating hypertension is 5 mg once daily, with maximum dose of 10 mg once daily. The usual starting dose of atorvastatin is 10 mg once daily.  Dose adjustment interval should be at least 4 weeks or longer. The maximum dose of this product is 80 mg once daily. Atorvastatin may be taken once daily at any time of the day, with or without food.

[Warnings]

Patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of this product must not use it. Since this product contains atorvastatin, it is contraindicated in patients with active liver disease, including those with unexplained persistent elevation of hepatic transaminase (greater than 3 times the upper limit of normal). It is contraindicated in pregnant women and nursing mothers.
