Generic name: Celecoxib Capsules

[Indications]

For relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, relief of signs and symptoms of adult rheumatoid arthritis, treatment of acute pain in adults, and relief of signs and symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis.

[Dosage and Adminstration]

  •   Osteoarthritis: 200 mg orally, twice daily.

  •   Rheumatoid arthritis: 200 mg orally, twice daily.

  •   Acute pain: On Day 1, initial dose 400 mg; an additional 200 mg may be taken if needed. Thereafter, 200 mg orally twice daily as required.

  •   Ankylosing spondylitis: 200 mg orally, once daily. If no effect after 6 weeks, may increase to 400 mg daily. If still ineffective after 6 weeks at 400 mg, alternative treatment should be considered.

[ Contraindications ]

Contraindicated in patients allergic to celecoxib. Not for use in patients with known sulfonamide allergy. Contraindicated in patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Contraindicated for perioperative pain in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. See package insert for details.
